I’ve always been that annoying person that points out errors in spelling and grammar. I cannot help myself, sometimes to the detriment of my personal relationships! I realised that my pernickety nit-picking could be helping people—and earning me money!—rather than just annoying my friends and family.

HOW EDITING CAN HELP
Any piece of writing can benefit from having another pair of eyes go over it. But why pay to use me, rather than say, asking a friend or family member (who would do it for free!)?

While there is nothing wrong with asking friends and family members for help, there are two main aspects where a professional can help. Firstly, and most obviously, is that it is our job and often our passion as well, so you get a level of competence which might not be available from your kinsfolk (with no disrespect to them!). Would you take your car to a plumber to get it fixed?
Secondly, we are able to give critical feedback in a way which might be upsetting—if it is even forthcoming—from someone closer to you.
